Welcome to the HAP Website

In September 2007 the Humber Apprentice Panel (HAP) was formed, the panel has been made up of a diverse group of Apprentices from across the sub-region.

The panel gives Apprentices the chance to discuss their experiences as Apprentices and have their voice heard, with input to the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Learner Panel and National Learner Panel. It gives learners the opportunity to gain more confidence in discussing their futures and will help them to develop better communication and debating skills. The panel will help complement the work of the National Learner Panel and the Yorkshire & Humber Regional Learner Panel.

The Humber Sub-Regional Panel is made up of five Apprentices' from across the sub region

The Panel has been designed to provide an opportunity for current Apprentices to:

  • Give their points of views about Apprenticeships, what's good about it and what should be improved.
  • Influence the people who make regional policy decisions that affect how work based learning is run in the Humber Sub-Region (Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire).
  • Give the opportunity to learn some new things about Apprenticeships, how policy works and how to be part of successful working group.
  • Complement the work of other learner voice mechanisms including the National Learner Panel and the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Learner Panel.

The Panel has looked into the idea of setting up an on-line forum for Apprentices to discuss their programme, share success stories and communicate with one and other.

It was identified in early 2008 that the National Learner Panel made a recommendation that they would like to see the use of technology to help Work Based Learners communicate, as they felt learners where isolated on an Apprenticeship.

HAP has developed this website and forum for Apprentice’s to communicate with each other, to complement this website HAP has also created Myspace, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Blogger and Social Go sites.

If you’re an Apprenticeship provider from the Humber sub-region, please visit our publications page where you are able to download posters and other marketing materials to promote the panel to your Apprentices.
