Testimonies
“Representatives from HAP are making valuable contributions to way future Ofsted inspections will look. This includes working alongside the development team from learning and skills in Ofsted to look at ways to ensure that more learners have the chance to feed their views to inspection teams in the future. This has included group session to share the ideas for inspection as well a session when HAP Members trained inspectors how to use message boards- one of the ways of contact with learners that Ofsted is looking at using in future inspections.” Kath Townsley—Ofsted
"It has long been recognised that it is very difficult to canvas the view of learners in Apprenticeship Placements due to the nature of training taking place within a variety of employers. It has proven to be very beneficial for the LSC to be able to work with the Humber Apprentice Panel on policy development . The panel has had an impact on in a number of areas, which include, the recently formed National Apprenticeship Service and taking part in the research on the evaluation and impact of Learner Involvement Strategies which can directly impact on a learners experience within the employer setting.” Rob Wye National Director Young Peoples Learning and Skills, Learning And Skills Council (LSC)
“As a Department we are committed to involving learners in the development of apprenticeship strategy. The involvement of Humber Apprentice Panel in the Department's review of apprentices helped us better understand the concerns of apprentices and to inform our work leading up to the publication of World-class Apprenticeships - the Government's strategy for the future of the programme in England”
